I decided to start this blog/site basically to keep me accountable for the restart of my fitness journey. And I say restart because, yes, I’m restarting. You see in 2013 I decided I needed a change. I was never really “fat”. I was “skinny fat”. I had gained quite some weight during college. I decided to start Shaun T’s Insanity. After two months of this program, I lost a total of 27 lbs. I kept working out and eating healthy, basically to maintain the weight and gain strength and muscle or to tone. This went on for about 2 years. Then I got married, got pregnant and well, my healthy lifestyle and workouts were less and less appealing and harder to keep up with. I gained a whopping 31 lbs with my first pregnancy, lost 40lbs post-partum. Then was too lazy to work out again. Supposedly, breastfeeding helps you lose an additional 500 calories a day, who knows, but I stopped breastfeeding when my son was 6 months old. I should’ve started working out and eating better again at this point, but again, I was too lazy. Then 3 months later, I fell pregnant again (yes, we planned it that way). Even though my pre-pregnancy weight is less this time around compared to with my son, I feel so much fatter. At this point in my first pregnancy, I gained more weight, but it was a healthy weight gain. This time around the 16lbs I’ve gained is all unhealthy weight gain, meaning, the weight gain is from bad foods and junk foods. I try to eat healthy, but this time around I’m finding more and more excuses as to why I should eat that piece of cake, lol. So today, I’m kinda slowly restarting… and by kinda slowly, I mean, I’m not gonna be as strict as I am when I’m not pregnant. I’m literally gonna start slow, with my diet and food intake, I have 3 months to get my butt into shape, and a shape that’s not a potato. Since my doctor said no heavy lifting or pushing, I’m gonna have to start slow with my 5 lbs weights I have to gain some of my muscle back. I will try to update every day (keyword is try). I’ll also post my first journey information with pictures and info in hopes to get back to that point again. Meal prep is my best friend, but with a 1 year old, it’s hard to get anything done. So my husband and I meal prep on Sunday’s and Tuesday’s, that just what works for us.
